Artist Biography

Richard Marshall

Richard has lived in Cambridge for the past ten years and has been in the Architectural profession for over forty years.

Most of the paintings he has executed are in watercolour and gouache mediums, plus a smaller body of work in pen and ink, pencil and charcoal.

Between 1973 and 1990 Richard carried out a long series of paintings of steam railway subjects with a view to specialise in that subject, and had two successful exhibitions mounted at Trumpington gallery in 1988 and 1990.

Since then he has expanded the range of subject matter to include landscapes, seascapes, historic buildings and pictures of numerous houses to individual commissions, as well as still lifes and portraits.
